Ada or Adrak or Zinginber officinale

Notes : It is an herbaceous perennial with upright stems and narrow medium green leaves arranged in two ranks on each stem.  Ginger grows from an aromatic tuber like rhizome (underground stem) which is warty and branched.   This plant is similar to Tartaric and Amada.  It bears a great midicinal value.  It is a spice also.

Notes : It is a medicinal plant,  used as a spice.  For basil,  this one smells really nice and strong (scent holds up well in the heat also). Margin serrulate to subentire,  ciliate,  apex acute,  lateral veins 4- or 5-paired.  Flower racemes numerous,  crowded,  erect.  Flowers are small,  white,  with protruding stamens.  Required regular watering,  but avoid water stagnant.
