Ada or Adrak or Zinginber officinale

Notes : It is an herbaceous perennial with upright stems and narrow medium green leaves arranged in two ranks on each stem.  Ginger grows from an aromatic tuber like rhizome (underground stem) which is warty and branched.   This plant is similar to Tartaric and Amada.  It bears a great midicinal value.  It is a spice also.

American bassil or Ocimum americanum

Notes : It is a medicinal plant,  used as a spice.  For basil,  this one smells really nice and strong (scent holds up well in the heat also). Margin serrulate to subentire,  ciliate,  apex acute,  lateral veins 4- or 5-paired.  Flower racemes numerous,  crowded,  erect.  Flowers are small,  white,  with protruding stamens.  Required regular watering,  but avoid water stagnant.

Notes : It is a perennial herb that reaches about 6 feet in nature. In the greenhouse they flower in the late fall and winter. It is very popular and important medicinal plant and very popular in Ayurveda. Grows well in pot and garden. Leaves extract are useful in nerve problems.

Notes : It is a fast-growing,  small tree or large shrub.  Glorious spires of small,  fragrant,  lavender-blue flowers appear at the branch tips from summer to autumn.  Highly ornamental,  palmate (hand-shaped),  gray-green leaves with silvery undersides look great all season.  It is a medicinal plant.  In winter the leaves shed off and the plants looks dry.  When they prune low.
